THIRTY DAYS OF PRAYER | WAITING WITH EXPECTATION

Finding Strength in the Lord | Week 5 | Deborah Meyer

“Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.” Psalm 5:3

This is truly the season of expectation, the season of hope, the season of promise, the season of waiting. It is Christmas! Just watch the children with the glow of the lights and the season reflected in their faces. It is the season of waiting with expectation.

Over two thousand years ago, the waiting and the expectation of God’s promise was… (read more)

Finding Strength in the Lord | Week 4

I have loved watching my grandchildren as they make their wish lists for this Christmas season, their eyes wide with excitement, and the parents, our children, patiently helping their little ones to make their lists as they struggle to print their words. Then, in that amazing and loving parental way, observing them and wisely making suggestions to gently shift the thinking of their children…offering gift ideas which would perhaps be better items for them to wish for…items which would be best for them…age appropriate, and interest appropriate. Their parents, our grand-children’s authority, clearly know what would be the best for their precious ones, even though their precious ones do not necessarily agree at the time. I think that we have all been there!

This scenario is a reflection of some of my first years with my Heavenly Father… (read more)

I continue to pray for you as you Find Strength in your LORD, this Christmas, and every day of the year…for the rest of your life!

The model we use for creating a safe environment, where you can explore, think, practice, and focus upward and onward is…

Safe

Book Club Bible Study provides a SAFE environment for each person to explore the Bible.

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.” Matthew 11:28, 29

Explore

Book Club Bible study equips you to EXPLORE the Bible with proven study techniques. Together we go straight to the source The New Inductive Study Bible; and guide you in utilizing the Bible as the “workbook” for life.

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

Think

Book Club Bible Study helps you learn to THINK and reason biblically. Small group discussions are based on the truth revealed in Scriptures not based on personal opinion. Questions are answered from the Bible, not from opinion or the traditions of men.

“…whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8

Practice

Book Club Bible Study empowers you to PRACTICE the things you learn from the Bible, which will help you live a better joy filled life.

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus… The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:4-7, 9

Upward & Onward

Book Club Bible Study helps you focus UPWARD on the character and purpose of God; then you move ONWARD step-by-step with His power and guidance.

“But let all who take refuge in You be glad, let them ever sing for joy; and may You shelter them, that those who love Your name may exult in You. For it is You who blesses the righteous man, O LORD, You surround him with favor as with a shield.” Psalm 5:11, 12

Praise the LORD! Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Who can list the glorious miracles of the LORD? Who can praise Him enough? Psalm 106:1-2

As we enter the season of giving thanks…and expressing gratitude, I am sure that all of us, at some point in our lives, have been tempted to focus on things we perceive we are missing in our lives, and the problems or giants we are facing, rather than first looking up and remembering the blessing and the abundance in our lives. Finding Strength in the Lord | Week 1

Book Club Bible Study and IRONMEN Bible Study are thrilled to join our friend Deborah Meyer of Daughters of Truth for THIRTY DAYS OF PRAYER: Finding Strength in the Lord. It is the perfect set up for our hearts and minds as we transition into the holiday season together.

Then Jesus said,

“Come unto Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

I think that most of us enjoy receiving invitations to participate in celebrations, understanding that we have been intentionally included. I remember the days on which the invitations to our children’s weddings were dropped into the mail… and our anticipation of each guest receiving and opening the invitation to ‘come and to celebrate’. Recently, my good friend shared with me her eagerness as the invitations to her son’s wedding were mailed… and then, received by the people dearest to them and to their family. Yes, an invitation is wonderful!

This fall, as we have… (click here to read more)

Transformed Not Triaged | BOOK CLUB BIBLE STUDY

How do you want to live… transformed or patched up?

The more I see Jesus through the eyes of Matthew and begin to see Jesus for myself the more I realize…

“Jesus did not come to patch us up; Jesus came to radically transform our lives.”

Sick, blind, lame, disease ridden, and desperate people flocked to Jesus for healing. People who had been rejected because of race, or people sent to live outside of the city because of a violation of the law, also sought Jesus when He walked upon the earth. Desperate people like you and like me still seek Jesus today.

Jesus demonstrated His authority over sickness, death, the thoughts of men, the wind and the sea. He healed the sick and raised the dead; but He came for a much greater purpose.

Jesus came to earth to transform the lives of those who follow Him. A transformation that is intended for the here and now on earth. A transformation which also includes an eternal transformation in heaven.

Are you consistently approaching Jesus for transformation or for a temporary patched up triaged life?

I want to encourage you to keep taking that next right step. A transformed life is worth the effort in the here and the now.

Resilient and strong,

Words Reveal Character | BOOK CLUB BIBLE STUDY

Words reveal character. Some days that’s good but some days it is awful that my words reveal my character… or shall I say lack of character! Can you relate? What are your words revealing about your character? Are you being transformed by what you are learning about Jesus; or are you just allowing His words to patch up a few broken places?

Watch the video of week 7 by Ginger Craddock: Words Reveal Character- 10 minutes

Download the companion study guide JESUS THROUGH THE EYES OF MATTHEW: WORDS REVEAL CHARACTER

Jesus has come to transform the fabric of your life, and my life, so that our words and actions will reveal the character of God the father and Jesus Christ. And thats why I love that we can begin again. Watch today’s video as I share a personal experience where my words revealed my character (ugh… the ugly part) and I was able to see myself through the eyes of my child.

I want to encourage you to keep taking that next right step and may your words continue to reveal the character of Jesus.

Grace and blessings,

Ginger
